If you missed the FCSNA meeting of November 14th, 2011, you're in the right place; don't fret!
The following is a summary of the meeting minutes:
Call to Order
The monthly meeting of the Felician College Student Nurses' Association was called to order at 1:00 p.m. by Jacqueline Norrell (President).
The Roll was called by the president, Jacqueline Norrell.
Those Present:

Quorum: Jacqueline Norrell declared a quorum present.
Minutes: The minutes of the (September 27, 2011) open meeting were presented for acceptance.
The minutes of the (October 17, 2011) open meeting were presented for acceptance.
Motions
It was moved and carried that we put aside $125 (plus individual officer donations of $10.00 a piece) for a gift for Professor Daly. It was suggested by the president that we purchase a Pandora bracelet with nursing charms to be presented to Janet Daly in recognition of her service to FCSNA. We should attempt to coordinate a meeting where the gift can presented; possibly during the rescheduled “meet and greet” of FCSNA officers with Dr. Shore that was canceled on 10.31.11.
Graduation Countdown
It was moved and carried that Jenifer Sisco be appointed as FCSNA Graduation Countdown committee person.
*We already have a freshman who can update the web and is waiting for content. (Responsibilities include posting all updates to website related to graduation "to-do", email blasts with graduation reminders, number of days, hours, minutes, and seconds to graduation.)
Senior Giving
It was moved and carried that Manjinder Kaur be appointed as FCSNA Senior Giving Committee person. (Coordination of gift selection based on FCSNA senior consensus).
T-Shirt Committee
It was moved and carried that Lauren Potoczniak and Shama Malek head up the Senior T-Shirt committee. (Responsibilities include securing 3 official quotes for t-shirts, submission of design ideas, from FCSNA members, and presentation to FCSNA membership for vote, collecting shirt sizes from all individuals purchasing t-shirts, collecting fees for purchase of t-shirts from seniors, and distributing t-shirts to all seniors who purchased t-shirts.)
Student Academic Representative
It was moved and carried that Erin Miley be appointed as FCSNA Academic Student Representative committee person (FCSNA representative for nursing student academics/ liaison with faculty on behalf of nursing students).
Consultant: Community Nursing
It was moved and carried that Valerie Buchta, of the Englewood Health Department, be appointed (predicated on her assent) as an FCSNA consultant. (Community health nurse who will guide and make recommendations on FCSNA involvement in community health initiatives.)
New Officer Positions
It was moved and carried that the FCSNA add two new positions to the organization:
Event Scheduler
Responsibilities include securing a location for all FCSNA meetings, evaluating ADN, fast-track, senior, junior, sophomore and freshman tracks and making recommendations for meeting dates that would reflect majority attendance.
Media Coordinator
Responsibilities include printing and distributing all fliers, email blasts and posters relating to FCSNA events. Coordinate updates to Felician College student handbook to ensure the organization and its contact information is accurate.
It was moved that Veronica Bellinghiere be appointed Media Coordinator.
FCSNA Officers Nominations 2012-2013
It was moved and carried that nominations are still being accepted for officers and class representatives for FCSNA 2012-2013 academic year.
Officer Elections
It was moved and carried out that the election of new officers occur in January 2012.
Delegate Elections
It was moved and carried out that the election of delegates occurs in December 2011.
Hali Cooper and Ritchell Antoine were nominated for the position of Felician Delegate.
Appointments
It was moved and carried out that vacated and new positions be filled through appointments. The following appointments were suggested:
Treasurer: Shama Malek
Senior Class Representative: Jenifer Sisco
Junior Class Representative: Tangina Matin
Freshman Class Representative
It was moved and carried out that we "officially" create the positions of 2 Freshman Class Representatives.
It was moved that Sharon Sobers and Charul Yadav be appointed Freshman Class Representatives.
It was moved and carried that Lauren Potoczniak and the treasurer secure three quotes for senior t-shirts and that, at the January meeting, we vote on designs and prices
Treasurer's Report
The Felician College Student Nurses' Association raised $86.50 from the Bake Sale held on October 24, 2011. The next Bake Sale is scheduled for November 21, 2011.

Report of Officers and Committee Chairs
Bake Sale
The report was given by Erin Miley. Highlights included:
The Bake Sale held on October 24, 2011 was very successful. The best sellers were home baked goods. We now need to plan for the November Bake Sale and post flyers to make the student and faculty aware.
Unfinished Business
Delegates: Open Felician delegate nominations for Convention 2012.
New Business
Senior Gift
FCSNA donate a defibrillator, with training provided by local EMS, to the college.
All FCSNA members, faculty and staff will be eligible for training on the device
If certification on the device is available, those attending will receive it.
It was moved and seconded to direct Sharma Malek, Treasurer, to figure out the cost and review the associations account balance.
Call for Web Editors
Encouraging participation from FCSNA members to take on the role as web editors.
It was moved and seconded to direct all officers of the association to spread the word about positions available to fill.
The next meeting will take place on the third floor, Kirby Hall on the Lodi Campus at December 12, 2011 at 1:00 PM.
Announcements
The president announced that the American Red Cross Blood Drive would be taking place November 15, 2011 in the student lounge in Obal Hall from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We currently have 14 online sign-ups; our goal is 30. We need to go out and make the college community aware.
