The Graduation Process

In order to graduate, you need to ensure adherence to Academic Policies in addition to Program Completion Requirements; the policies and requirements for Felician's RN/BSN track are located @ http://www.felician.edu/academics/nahp/nursing.asp?psection=gbnppolicy#pgmcmpreq.

Please take the time to review the policies so that you may remain appropriately informed. As we do not anticipate changes to the existing policies and requirements, the Felician website currently serves as the definitive source of timely and authenticate information as it pertains to academic requirements for the completion of the RN/BSN track.

NCLEX Frequently asked questions can be found here.

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COMPLETION OF AN APPROVED NCLEX PREP CLASS, PREVENTING YOU FROM GRADUATING OR DELAYING YOUR PAPERWORK TO THE STATE, ARE IN THE PROCESS OF CHANGING.

More Details to Follow, however, here are some of the highlights:

  • 1. You will be able to take the NCLEX PREP class prior to graduating, alleviating any barriers or delays of the submission of your completion requirements to the state, by the program, after you have successfully completed the requirements of the program.

  • 2. It will no longer be a REQUIREMENT to pay for the NCLEX PREP class in order to graduate.

One of the bullets listed for the nursing program, program requirements (and program completion requirements) on the Felician website states that "Successful completion of a departmental approved NCLEX Review Course following completion of the last semester of the program" is a requirement for graduation.

Availability to Test: You have been cleared, you paid your fees, the school has provided the necessary information stating that you completed the required course work.

  1. Go to the New Jersey Board of Nursing Website: http://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/nursing/nur_applications.htm and click on “RN and LPN Application Packet NCLEX” in the center of the page under the heading “Licensure by Examination”. A PDF file will pop up with the whole application. It has all the details and tells you where to mail the application, how much it costs, and the process of finger printing and signing up for the test.

  2. On one of the pages on the application you have to get a page notarized. You can do this at your personal bank; the UPS store does it as well.

  3. Once your application is mailed in, the Board will send you an application to get your fingerprinting done. The application will contain all the details on how to go about this. You will need to schedule an appointment and pay for the fingerprinting online based on the web page they give you.

  4. You cannot choose your NCLEX test date until Felician College sends a letter to the Board saying that you have met all the requirements to graduate as a BSN*. Once they do this you will receive a code by the Board that will be used to schedule a test date.

  5. *After you have taken the Rutgers Review** and have passed the Exit HESI you need to send a letter to the [Associate Dean-Dept. of Undergraduate Nursing]. You can download a sample letter by clicking here. Make certain that you put your name on it, change the date, and whatever other items need to be personalized; print it and sign it. Hand deliver the letter to [Associate Dean-Dept. of Undergraduate Nursing]. Once she receives it, she will authorize you to sit for the NCLEX.

**At the time that you schedule yourself or group for testing you need to specifically ask for a letter stating that you attended and completed the course. The letter needs to be submitted to the [Associate Dean-Dept. of Undergraduate Nursing] as proof of completion.

  6. You can, however, sign up and pay for your NCLEX test by going to https://wsvprd1b.pearsonvue.com/nclex/ and clicking on “Register and pay” under the center heading labeled “Registration”. This will direct you to create your own account under Pearson and will allow you to pay online for your test.

  7. On the Pearson website you can also look at the PDF files that explain more in detail the process of applying for a license and signing up to take the test.
